Our time in Cooperstown has come to an end and the boys have had an amazing time playing baseball at Cooperstown Dreams Park. We faced Irvine Rox in our first bracket-play game and came up short 13-7 and were eliminated from the tournament. The boys handled the loss well and quickly moved on to trading pins. Yet another reminder that after all is said and done, they are just kids.
Yesterday we went to Gilbert Lake and the boys swam and paddle boated. It was a great way to spend the day together as a team.
Closing Ceremonies were held last night and each of the boys were called out by name and received a commemorative ring to take home with them. The ceremonies were followed by an amazing fireworks display and the Championship Game between #11 seed Cherry Hill Sharks (NJ) and the #1 seed CT Hurricanes (CT). The Cherry Hill Sharks won 8-3.
The Cherry Hill Sharks started tournament play on Wednesday at 9pm. They won that game, followed by 3 more wins on Thursday (8:30am, 12:00pm, and 3:00pm) before making it to their 4th game of the day, the Championship Game on Thursday night at 9:15pm. That's a lot of baseball in one day for 12 year olds! They played a great game and it was fun to watch.
We leave Cooperstown today filled with life long memories and friends and we thank you all for your unwavering support. This is an experience the boys (and the parents and grandparents) will never forget.

Pool Play Recap
Power Storm finished Pool Play with a 5-1 record and are seeded 28th out of 104 teams. They've played baseball in the rain (which we don't do in California), in the fog, in the morning, in the afternoon, in the middle of the night, and they have slept between games. They're getting a taste of what a major league career would be like and enjoying every minute of it!
Last night's final pool play game was filled with highs and lows. Here are the highlights of last night's game:
We were down 2-3 in the bottom of the first inning. By the bottom of the third, we were chasing 2 to tie. It's after midnight and the boys are exhausted. In the top of the 6th inning, the bats came alive. Jake got on first with a fielder's choice and then steals second base. Zane comes up to bat with a single RBI to score Jake. It's a 3-4 ball game. Next up, Nik. He's got two strikes on him and there are two outs on the board. Next pitch, Nik smokes a two run HR over the right field wall, giving us the 5-4 lead! The parents and the boys went wild! We were jumping around and hugging each other and cheering so loud you would have thought we won the World Series! It was a beautiful moment.
It's the bottom of the 6th inning and our opponent is facing Jason R. on the bump. First batter of the inning is in the number three spot and takes a walk. Their clean up batter comes up to bat and Jason strikes him out swinging! We're all on our feet. Next batter comes up and gets out on a fielder's choice, advancing the runner to second base. They're now in scoring position. There are two outs on the board. Their position 6 batter is now at the plate with a 1-2 count and the third strike is dropped. Our catcher throws the ball behind the batter to Ben D. on first base to gun for the third out. The ball is uncatchable and tips Ben's glove. Luckily Jake E. (2nd basemen) is backing up the throw. Ben turns around, foot stretched on the bag, and Jake tosses the ball from behind first base for the third out to end the game! What an exciting win!

Another "W!"
Storm wins Game 5! Final score was 15-16. Nik S. and Jared A. both roped one over the fence in Game
5 and Nik now has 3 total HR's for the tourney. Way to go Nik!
